On this, my third review of Ford’s ridiculous F-150 Raptor R, I’m reminded of my three Caddy CT5-V Blackwing reviews prior to purchasing it at the end of 2022. I just couldn’t get enough of it.
No, I don’t have a Raptor R on order, but I’ve certainly toyed with the idea.
Like the Blackwing, this super truck boasts an attractive (or in the case of the Raptor – imposing) design, daily comfort, practicality, and incredible performance (in a totally different environment).

That combination is compelling, and contributes to the truck’s commonplace dealer markups.
The fact that you can make an oversized Costco run, enjoy plush seats and driving aids on your commute, and then plough through the desert at triple digit speeds is a unique capability spectrum that comes at an understandable premium.
Ultimately, my affinity for supercharged V8s may stop (or at least pause) at the Dodge Demon 170, which could still fit in my garage.
I guess I’ll just keep the annual Raptor R reviews coming!
